Reclaiming cultural capital for the next generation

The Foundation serves as a bridge, connecting elders to youth, tradition to modern identity, and heritage to future leadership.

About Us

The Ndi-Ichie Youth Cultural Foundation exists to reclaim cultural capital where it has been damaged, diluted, or lost. We focus on children and young adults, those most impressionable and most in need of identity-anchored spaces that reinforce language, heritage, and pride.

Through Igbofest Houston, we activate a dedicated Kids Village designed to deliver structured, cultural experiences that produce measurable impact. The annual festival stages cultural and folklore awareness that translates into productive activities for the youth and individuals open to an international exchange. Igbofest has reigned for over two decades in the city of Houston promoting and showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of Igboland.

We are not simply hosting programs.
We are restoring memory.
We are strengthening pride.
We are reclaiming cultural capital for the next generation.

And this is only the beginning.

Our Programs

Kids Village Programming

The Kids Village is a dedicated cultural learning space at Igbofest Houston where children engage in Igbo language sessions, traditional dance, folklore storytelling, and heritage games.

Cultural Performers

Our Cultural Performers are tradition bearers who preserve and transmit authentic West African dance, music, and storytelling.

Community Support Initiatives

Through scholarships and access initiatives, we remove financial barriers that prevent youth from participating in cultural programming.

Youth Engagement

Our youth engagement programs create structured opportunities for young people to lead, perform, volunteer, and serve within culturally grounded spaces.
